US Congress---Petition to stop Gonzales nomination for Attorney General
http://www.petitiononline.com/abc9876/petition.html

how long will the people hold their tongues?  why should any member of
the Senate step forward if we don't tell them what we want them to do?
the Republicans have thrown down the guantlet with Gonzales.  some say
let's save our ammunition for the most important battles.  no, no, a
million times no!  when oh when will the people stop rolling over?
when if not now?  empower our representatives with your declared
support. http://www.thepen.us/gonzales.html

THE NAKED TRUTH! show reveals the face of artistic censorship. THE
NAKED TRUTH! exposes the current body politic repressing nudity in
art. During the Bush Administration, a pervasive, conservative
attitude toward the nude has made its way across the nation.

The show will feature the "Nipple Print Canvas", an interactive piece
to be auctioned off at the end of the night. A private space allows
the interactive audience to add their nipple prints to an existential
masterpiece. We encourage nipples of all sexes, ages, races and
creeds to make an impression of solidarity for THE NAKED TRUTH!

For over twenty years, ANON SALON has shaped West Coast entertainment
history by producing hundreds of events; unique theme parties, theater
festivals, gallery shows, technology conferences and even street fairs
for Burning Man fans both in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

thumping rhythmic grooves, with dub holding it all together. Pitch Black

are multimedia addicts. Every gig they play is live, with fully

 @ Station 40 3030b 16th St (& Mission), directly across from BART
In July 2003 Sinan Antoon, an exiled Iraqi writer and poet, returned to
Baghdad to see what has become of his city after wars, sanctions,
decades of oppression and violence, and now occupation. Antoon takes
journey exploring what Iraqis think and feel about the post-war situation
and the complex relationship between the US and Iraq.
About Baghdad is a journey into the hearts and minds of the hundreds of
Iraqis we encountered in Baghdad. In the simmering heat of Baghdad’s
summer, Iraqis, of various ethnic and political backgrounds and
orientations, speak of past horrors and present fears.
Reflections on the traumatic legacy of dictatorship, sanctions and war,
also reflect resilience and humanity of a people who were, for decades,
dehumanized and disappeared behind Saddam’s image. From poets to
politicians, cabbies to communists, a retired senior citizen to an
American soldier at Bremmer’s HQ, "About Baghdad" navigates the dire,
and oft misunderstood and misrepresented, straits separating, yet
involving, both Iraqis and Americans.
